Have we all forgotten what Veterans Day is all about? I, along with several of the Blue Star Mothers went and served breakfast at a veterans shelter this morning and then we marched in a parade. I think there were more people marching that observing the parade. I know a lot of you get the day off, where were you? It was beautiful out - there were no excuses.
Well just got back from my Blue Star Mothers meeting tonight. For those of you that have not heard of us, it is a group of moms with children serving in the armed forces. We are a support group for each other, our children and our military. What a great group of ladies. It's funny to say, but this is the first organization that I have belonged to in my adult life that is comprised of women my own age. Most of the other groups I belong to are predominately male.
Well not sure exactly what I'm doing, but the only way to learn to to press forward. Had a brief lecture by Professor Liz Lawley of RIT on social computing so I started nosing around to see what I could write about. It certainly won't be earth shattering info. Buy maybe we can pick up stuff from one another. Now that school is over for the summer semester (wohoo 2 months off) I might be able to concentrate on this. Just I'll have to read one of those "Dummies" books to get this off the ground.
